To our cherished Hidden Grounds community,
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the closure of our location at 1126 N Broadway Avenue, effective Wednesday, January 15th. This decision was not made lightly, as we carefully weighed our economic realities, values, and the alignment of our long-term goals both personally and professionally. While this marks the end of an era for this location, it is not the end of Hidden Grounds.
From the beginning, we made the intentional decision to keep our offerings low-budget and accessible to ensure that everyone in our community could enjoy what we provide. While we still stand firmly by that decision, the realities of operating a coffee shop with such margins in today’s economy have proved challenging and have provided much reflection and discussion.
Hidden Grounds has always been about more than just coffee; it’s been a space for connection, creativity, and community. Together with Chameleon Collective—the visionary brand that inspired Hidden Grounds—we’ve celebrated incredible milestones this year, including awards for "Best Atmosphere", innovation and our purpose-driven work. These honors are a testament to the power of community and the mission that brought us all together and that we truly believe in.
To the artists who have displayed their work in our space, we want to assure you that your art will not be forgotten. We will personally be contacting each and every artist to ensure their work is returned safely to them. Additionally, if desired, we are committed to providing connections and recommendations for other venues where your art can continue to be showcased. The art community has welcomed us with open arms, and we are deeply grateful for the beauty and creativity you’ve brought into Hidden Grounds. Moving forward, we are excited to continue collaborating with artists in new ways and through different avenues.
We are also incredibly grateful for the opportunity to learn from the experience of being part of the Fairbanks building and the vibrant community within and around it. We wish prosperity and success to everyone who continues to make that space a thriving hub. This will always be a part of our continued story.
To those who have walked through our doors this past year, we cannot thank you enough. Your willingness to not only be customers but also friends and an integral part of our lives has been humbling beyond words. This journey has tested us in so many ways, and we are proud to call it a successful demonstration of strength, innovation, and belief in the importance of community and networking.
For those with January memberships, you will be receiving a partial refund and will be contacted directly. Additionally, details for the upcoming Patch Party event will be emailed to all registered participants, outlining next steps as we move forward.
As we reflect on this chapter, we know this is not goodbye. It’s a transition—a moment to pause, reflect, and strategize for the future of Hidden Grounds. Alongside Chameleon Collective, we are evaluating what comes next, and remain committed to carrying forward our shared mission and purpose in whatever form that takes.
This path has been walked so that others may run. As we restructure and adapt, we look forward to continuing to be a part of the Springfield community in new and meaningful ways. The future holds endless possibilities, and we are excited to step into it with you by our side.
